This is how we lined up the engine.  We attached extensions to the top longerons to give us a guide for nose up or down and clamped rods to the top of the engine on both sides which we used as a guide of where they would contact the firewall.  This made it simple to square off the engine to the firewall and then move the rear of the engine 2.49 inches to the left (toward the pilot).
