| Set wing angle to 5.75 degrees and drill six bolt holes through center spar and wing spar. This is normally already drilled by Zenair, however I did not build my wings before my fuselage so they sent me my center spar with my fuselage kit and did not match drill my spars for me. To do this step I palced a board at the tip of the wing spar from the floor to the spar. Then I used a digital level and adjusted the board until I had exactly 5.7 degrees. The drawings show 5.75 but my digital level does not show the hundredths so I had to set them to 5.7 and then I kept adjusting until the level said 5.8 and backed off half of my adjustment. That shoud be just about 5.75. The important part is to have both spars exactly the same. Once I had both spars attached I used a laser level and found that my wings are within 3mm of each other at the tips. In my opinion it would be almost impossible to get them much closer than that, so I am very happy with the results. |
