| Now for the fun part. I have no idea if this is how you should do this, but it worked for me. I put the bungee pin in place and then bent a U clamp so that I could slide it through the pin. Then I bent it back down and connect threaded rod to it. Then Lubricate the top end of the nose gear and the lower bearing. Position the bungee and slide the nose gear leg into place. Then I put a bar under the nose gear with the threaded rod through this bar and placed nuts on the threaded bar. Then I was able to slowly tighten the nuts to press the strut in place. Once in place I installed the bolts for the lower bearing and also the nose gear top plate and castle nut. I hope this helps a few builders out there. |
